There's more than meets the eye with these patterns from east London based illustrator, Paul Willoughby – particularly his revamp of the classic blue China plate. Please do NOT pass the chopsticks, thanks. However, use of Mr. T will almost always get you a N&A nod.

This three-pattern sofa speaks for itself. It's rad to see a large piece of furniture like this rock out with multiple patterns. Good work.

Beautiful, soft textures. Ethereal, fantastical creatures and organisms intertwined. Or!.. Sometimes bold, juxtaposed fashion accessories? If there's a dis-connect, we don't really care. When you look closely at Florence Manlik's hand-drawings, it's marvelling to think of what her process might be like. The delicateness and accuracy of her perfectly flowing, repetitive lines is a serious labor of love. (As is her pointillism work!)

The limited edition Henrik Vibskov collection for innovative children's brand, Quinny, is bittersweet for us children-less fans. The designs revolve around a quirky little story; Wooden creatures who flee urban life and escape to a forest to play a rainbow, raindrop and vibration inducing musical symphony. The vibrations are interpreted in the Mad print. Check out the stroller, knitted blanket, child and adult umbrellas and sleeping bag from this family..

Mike Perry aka Midwest Is Best - designer of the popular tee from Select has assembled a book highlighting hand-drawn patterns by some of the world's most talented artists.
“Over and Over: A Catalog of Hand-Drawn Patterns collects groundbreaking work from fifty of today's most talented designers who create patterns by hand and use them in their work in inventive and innovative ways. From Deanne Cheuk's patterns that adorn current fashion to those of Robin Cameron that explore her interest in art to Garrett Morin's patterns that arose from an exercise for a character called Eloie, the examples in this book push the boundaries of the traditional concept of what a pattern is."
